Student assistant positition for students of the "first generation"

You are the first member of your family to have taken up studies (so-called "first generation" students) and would like to do academic work at the University of Cologne while you are still studying for your Bachelor's degree (or a comparable course of study with the aim of passing your first exam/ Staatsprüfung)?

You are a professor or head of a junior research group and would like to support the academic education of a student by taking on a first job as a student assistant?
Then apply jointly for the financing of a student assistant position. The positions are eight hours per week and are funded for the duration of two semesters.

The aim of the programme is to support students in their bachelor's degree or with the aim of passing their first (state) examination, who are the first member of their family to study, in their employment as a student assistant and to motivate them for an academic career. Starting in winter semester 2020/2021, up to 12 SHK positions will be funded, with a scope of eight hours per week and for the duration of two semesters.

Application for the last call for applications:
The application is made together with the student and a professor or junior research group leader and must be submitted in full by 19 June 2020.
